Events updates 2020 & 2021

Recently the N18 class made the only sensible decision regarding the 2020 AIB British and Irish Class Championships and cancelled the event due to be hosted at the Royal Cork Yacht Club as part of the Cork300 celebrations. We are however delighted to announce the rescheduling of this regatta at the RCYC with the Class Championships now scheduled for 1st Aug 2021. Our 2020 season both in the UK and Ireland has been significantly impacted however sailing has started as you will have seen on Facebook and Instagram. The AIB Irish National Champs are on 12-13th Sept. the RCYC club

AIB National 18 Championship 2020 Cancelled Due to COVID-19

AIB National 18 Championship 2020 Cancelled Due to COVID-19 The National 18ft Class Association has very reluctantly concluded that they must cancel the 2020 UK & Irish Championships. The event was due to be held in the Royal Cork Yacht Club this August as part of the Cork300 celebrations however the remaining government restrictions, in particular those on foreign travel and social distancing, will make it impossible to run a successful event. For Sale: N18/231 ‘Nocturne’ € 6,500 ONO Uffa Fox designed, built 1960 P Waters, Appledore, North Devon. In beautiful condition.   Brazilian mahogany on oak frames. In 2011 the deck was replaced by shipwright Jim Walsh (Walsh Boatworks) with Robbin’s Elite Ply. The hull was stripped back to bare wood with some sections of planking replaced where needed. Varnished with 12 coats of Epiphanes Varnish. Flooring replaced with teak 2013.   Alloy mast and boom.   Sails: Cream Dacron main and jib, 2007. Main has 2 slab reef points with battens and sail number. Jib is roller reefed with steel luff.
