NATIONAL 18 INLANDS SEPTEMBER 29TH Dear N18 class member   We are much enjoying our season with 18s at Tamesis Club.  If you’ve never been, now’s your chance!  We have some very challenging conditions, but always susceptible to an outsider coming in and showing us the way.. You will know we have a day of 18 racing scheduled for Sat 29th September at Tamesis.  I have agreed with R/C (Sailing) Jim Green that in the absence of a Class Captain, I will co-ordinate the event. 2018 National 18 Class Championships – update & NOR

West Mersea   Sunday 15 – Friday 20 July 2018 80 years of sailing   1938 – 2018 Welcome to West Mersea and the West Mersea Yacht Club. We are delighted that the National 18’s selected the Blackwater Estuary for their 80th Anniversary National Championship.  The racing will be hosted by the West Mersea Yacht Club, however we are excited to include both the Dabchicks Sailing Club, where we have a longstanding relationship, and the Blackwater sailing club, where this association is new.  Thank you both for your contributions. 2018 Class Championship Venue – West Mersea YC

2018 Class Championship venue change. As previously published in the 2017 AGM we are booked to hold the 2018 class championships in Royal Torbay Yacht Club, Torquay. Discussion as a class during our recent visit to HISC highlighted that to take advantage of the opportunity to grow our class in both S. coast (HISC) and in SE coast, Essex we must ensure we hold championships in these regions to grow our presence. Dom Long’s testimonial As announced at the recent National 18 Championships the Cork N18 class are hosting a big party in the RCYC on Sat 9th September in recognition of Dom Long’s 35 years of service to the class. This will be run in conjunction with the Sutton Book event with our guests from Sutton Dinghy Club racing N18’s for the day. There will be plenty of on the water action both sail and power along with a function in the club on Sat evening.
