NOTICE OF RACE

  1. RULES

1.1    The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing

  1. ADVERTISING

2.1   Advertising on a boat, personal equipment or any other object on board a boat shall be displayed in accordance with the World Sailing Advertising Code and the applicable class rules. Advertising that is not specifically permitted under this Code is prohibited.

2.2   Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

  1. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

3.1  The regatta is open to all boats of the National 18 Class

3.2  Eligible boats may enter on-line at www.rfyc.net  A paper entry form will be available at the clubhouse or by contacting Iona Cornish.

  1. FEES

4.1  Required entry fee is £175.00.

  1.  SCHEDULE

5.1  Registration either on-line in advance or at the RFYC clubhouse on Saturday 27th July from 15.00hrs to 17.00hrs

5.2  A briefing will be held on Saturday 27th July at 17.00hrs in the RFYC clubhouse

5.3  Races will take place in the Moray Firth. First start: Sunday 28th July 09.00hrs

5.4  Ten races are scheduled to take place for each class: two on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be a rest day if no racing has been lost earlier in the week and the forecast for the end of the week is good.

  1.  MEASUREMENT

6.1  Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate, on request of the Race Committee

  1.  SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

7.1  The sailing instructions will be available after registration

  1.  THE COURSES

8.1  The courses to be sailed will be as depicted on the course card, which will be available with the sailing instructions

  1.   SCORING

9.1  The low point scoring system in RRS Appendix A4 shall apply.

RRS 44.3 shall not apply.

9.2  Four races are required to be completed to constitute a series

9.3  When fewer than six races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be a total of her race scores.

9.4  When six to eight races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores, excluding her worst score.

9.5  When nine or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be  the total of her race scores, excluding her two worst scores.

  1.  BERTHING

10.1  Boat parking will be available at either of the RFYC boat parks. Mooring or pontoon berth may be available, but must be requested at least a month in advance. Please contact Iona Cornish by 28.06.19.

  1.  PRIZES

11.1  Prizes will be allocated as per the Appendix with the Sailing Instructions.

  1.  DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

12.1  Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

  1.  INSURANCE

13.1  Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £3,000,000 per incident or the equivalent.
