2017 National 18 Class Championships 23-28 July at Hayling Island SC.

The 2017 National 18 Class Championships  23-28 July

at Hayling Island SC.

Heads up….

Your organizing team has been very busy formulating, in the words of the mighty Baldrick, a cunning plan, intended to add ever better value, enjoyment, waistlines and hangovers…!

As of now, we have 16 entries with a further 7 or so committed to come, making an expected total of 23 or so boats, from Classic’s through to Ultra’s.

Those that haven’t yet entered, please get on and do so (on HISC site here), to relieve the stress and uncertainty of your organising team, who’d really like a decent night’s sleep…!

We have a typically busy social program in mind, summarized below:

Sunday:

Evening Reception and Canapes….

Monday:

Jess’s Beach games… as only she can do…you know the drill….followed by a sumptuous Italian night

Tuesday:

Bus to & from Bosham, provided by Bosham SC, for a worlds wide sausage fest, with a selection of O’Hagan’s award winning Bangers…..you can try Thai, Hot Mexican, Fresh Spanish Chorizo, Toulouse Garlic, Classic Sussex Smokey, Oxford Herb & Pork & Leek, served with salad, french bread, cheese etc….all washed down by copious pints of good beers.

With live music from accomplished Blues man Rob Berry, playing his cigar box blues, with his guest drummer, a very special old rocker….!

A night not to be missed….. along with our late bus back to HISC.

Wednesday:

Spare race day, to allow the fleet a fun sail to Itchenor SC for a casual lunch & beers, with crews switched between boats to experience how the other half live…!

Then later that afternoon we have the Class AGM followed by the Class Dinner which, this year, everyone is urged to attend !

Thursday:

A couple of johnny come lately dinghy classes, aka the 505’s and Flying Dutchman’s will join with us for a curry and knees up, with comedy from Hugo & co, and yet more proper live music (blues and stadium rock) from the Rob Berry and his full band. Drink and jive along if you want…..What more could you ask for..?

Friday:

Prize giving followed by a fish’n’chips supper and then an open mike evening and the traditional n18’s sing song, until the wee hours…..lets see if we can convert some 505’s & FD’s to the cause….

We have negotiated several LATE extensions to the bar, so please demonstrate the Class’s renowned ability to try & drink them dry…thus making our hosts, HISC happy…

Tickets for all of the above evenings socials can be yours for the princely sum of only £ 100.

Day tickets will also be available to purchased at registration, cards welcome.

We need your orders by Tuesday Noon to have a good chance to be ready for you to collect at registration on Sunday. Any order made later or at registration should be with us at HISDC during or by the end end of the week.

We are finalizing some other goodies that you can order via our N18 webshop c/o our clothing suppliers website. However due to some tech issues whilst they migrate servers, this has been delayed going live but should be up shortly…..!

We are grateful for the significant sponsorship from Verisona Law, McAfee and Bosham SC, which have enabled us to hold down our prices, and to the team at Hayling Island SC for their flexibility and help in staging our Championships.

Finally, please remember, that the proceeds from the sales of tickets for the socials and shirts etc, are essential to help fund the event, so please do your bit and buy loads…..!

See you there……

Cheers

Jeremy, Max, Tim & Andrew
