Welcome to the National 18 Class

The Class has evolved a deep history, from the original clinker wooden Uffa Fox ‘Ace’ adopted in 1938, through to our latest iteration, the thoroughly exciting & modern Phil Morrison designed, two or three person, trapeze, dinghy being built by White Formula and formally launched at the 2015 Dinghy Show.

The Class supports a thriving fleet, from the 75+ year old classic woodies through to our latest Morrison design, with an unrivalled history of keen competition and a lively bonhomie amongst the multi generational fleets in clubs around England, Ireland, the Isle of man, Scotland & Wales.

Recently the N18 class made the only sensible decision regarding the 2020 AIB British and Irish Class Championships and cancelled the event due to be hosted at the Royal Cork Yacht Club as part of the Cork300 celebrations.

We are however delighted to announce the rescheduling of this regatta at the RCYC with the Champs now scheduled for 1st Aug 2021.

Our 2020 season both in the UK and Ireland has been significantly impacted however sailing has started as you will have seen on Facebook and Instagram. The AIB Irish National Champs are on 12-13th Sept. the RCYC club regatta is two weeks earlier on the 29-30 Aug. Ireland has a two week quarantine for visitors travelling in from the UK however should the quarantine rules change the Cork class would be happy to welcome visitors to these events.
